The TokuNet Podcast is back and starting off the year with a review of 2016's Ultraman Orb.

Welcome back to the TokuNet Podcast and a Happy New Year to all! First off, we'd like to let you know of a few changes to the podcast formatting and scheduling. Starting in March, the podcast will be released once a month. We have plans to add special episodes here and there, which we'll announce once they are ready. The podcast will also have segments to facilitate more discussions. For now, the podcast will start with a discussion on current tokusatsu news followed up by the main topic of the podcast.
On a site level, the Tokusatsu Network now has a Patreon page which you can use to help support the site in any way you can. Even $1 contribution goes a long way in helping us continue to provide the quality tokusatsu news coverage you've come to expect. And if you become a backer at the Rider level or higher, you will have early access to future episodes of the TokuNet Podcast.
For today's podcast, we start off the episode talking about the latest Power Rangers movie trailer as well as the latest news (as of recording) on the upcoming Sentai series, Uchu Sentai Kyuranger. We then jump into our review of Ultraman Orb as well as discuss what we'd like to see in the Ultraman Orb Origin Saga spin-off series.

Team TokuNet is back with a review of 2015-2016's Kamen Rider Ghost.
Kamen Rider Ghost started off the season in a very unique way by having the main hero, Tenkuji Takeru, die in the very first episode. But does this set up an equally unique season of Kamen Rider or did Takeru die (multiple times) in vain? The podcast crew discusses his journey towards revival and whether or not the season actually benefited from his sacrifice. We also talk about why Cubi was the best Gamma of them all.

Team TokuNet gets together to provide an audio and written review of the much anticipated film, Shin Godzilla.

With a week away from the U.S. release of Toho's Shin Godzilla/Godzilla: Resurgence, the podcast crew sits down to discuss the King of Monsters' return to Japanese screens. The team talks about their initial reactions to the news of the film's production, the film's interpretation of the iconic monster, and its underlying message among other topics.

Editor-in-Chief Paula Gaetos sits down to chat with Zander Cannon, writer and artist of the comic book series Kaijumax.
During San Diego Comic-con 2016, Paula got the chance to sit down with Zander Cannon, the creator behind the tokusatsu-inspired comic book series, Kaijumax, now in its second season. Kaijumax focuses on the social system of a group of giant monster inmates on a prison island.
In the interview, Zander talks about how he got interested in the tokusatsu genre, how he created Kaijumax, as well as what's in store for the series in the future. You can pick up a copy of Kaijumax at Oni Press or at your local comic book shop.

Distributed exclusively on the Amazon Prime Video service, Kamen Rider Amazons followed the two distinct paths of Haruka Mizusawa/Kamen Rider Amazon Omega and Jin Takayama/Kamen Rider Amazon Alpha.

With the Spring anime season recently ending, Team TokuNet chats about their favorite shows of the season.

Another season of anime has come and gone, but while the Summer season is already underway, we take a look at some of the shows that grabbed our attention for the past few months. Four warriors are gathered by the TokuNet Alliance to discuss the latest entry in the Voltron franchise, Voltron: Legendary Defender.

Announced earlier this year at WonderCon, fans were surprised to learn of Dreamworks' latest project. Set to be a reboot of the classic TV show, Voltron: Legendary Defender boasted a new look, a stellar cast of voice actors, and a story that both paid homage to its predecessor and paved the way for new avenues for the characters to explore.
After the obligatory bingeing of the series, Team TokuNet got together to talk about what they thought the series. We talk about our history with the various Voltron shows, our reaction to the initial announcement, our thoughts on certain plot points throughout the series, as well as where we think the show could go if/when we get a second season.

The TokuNet crew emerges from the shadows to talk about the first 18 episodes of Ninja Sentai Kakuranger.

Premiering in 1994, Kakuranger became the first series in the franchise to explore the theme of ninja. With a story following a group of misunderstood modern youth taking on the task of defending the world passed down from generations ago, the show explored both the perception of the younger generation by elders and the vast history surrounding the monsters of the season, the Youkai.
